Saddam's superyacht heads home
Saddam Hussein's superyacht is returning to Iraq, following the Iraqi Government's successful court battle in Nice over its ownership.

The 270ft Qadissiyat Saddam, recently renamed Ocean Breeze, had been listed for sale for £18m by broker Burgess Yachts, as reported in April's MBM.

A Cayman Island-registered firm, part owned by King Abdullah of Jordan, claimed ownership, saying the Iraqi dictator gave the boat to the Saudi royal family as a gift and then to King Abdullah.

But the court rejected these claims after ruling that the company failed to produce "a single document that establishes ownership".

The 2282-tonne superyacht, which reportedly features a mini-submarine and missile defence system, will now head back to Iraq after the court ceded ownership to the Iraqi Government.
