World's smallest drive-in floating cinema
The world's smallest drive-in floating cinema will be created for one showing only as part of the Cromarty Film Festival. Festival organiser Dave Newman has hooked up with local farmer John Henderson, who operates the ferry Cromarty Rose, to create the one-off event on Tuesday 18th November.
Just two cars and up to 10 foot passengers will be carried aboard Cromarty Rose for the screening of 'The Maggie', a 1950s film about the Scottish owner of a rusty old puffer. "We wanted a sea-themed film, but decided against Titanic or The Poseidon Adventure", said Don Coutts, the film director who helps run the festival.
"We just hope it's not going to be too windy on the night, but we will tie the screen down thoroughly just in case, and we'll squeeze a sofa on as well for anyone hardy enough to brave the elements."
