Blue Water Rallies, organisers of cruising-only rallies worldwide, have launched a new event the Atlantic Islands Rally 2009. Drawing together three marinas located in Portugal, Madeira and Lanzarote, the cruise is aimed at yachts heading for an Atlantic crossing or for cruising in the Canaries.
The Atlantic Islands Rally will leave Cascais in Portugal in mid-August and voyage via Quinta do Lorde in Madeira to arrive in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote on 25/26 August. There will be experienced professional support, together with a social and tourist programme, at each of the three ports of call. Backed by the Blue Water Rally organisation, there will also be detailed passage briefings, weather information and logistic support.
Minimum LOA: 27 ft Entry fee: £350 for yacht and skipper, plus £100 for each additional crew berth. Entry: Limited to 35 entries Closing date for applications:1 May 2009
The Atlantic Islands Rally will also be featured on the Blue Water Rallies' stand (N70A) at the London Boat Show.
