A new development on the river Tees has been given final planning stage approval by the Government. The river is to get a £300m deep-sea container terminal that will be called the Northern Gateway Container Terminal. PD ports say that the terminal will reduce mileage greatly and will have big advantages as some goods for the north come in via Southampton or Felixstowe.
