Stena Line are using the HSS 1500 catamaran Stena Explorer (1996/19,638gt) only in July and August this year, and then for just a single daily Holyhead-Dun Laoghaire round trip.

Services from March to June, and then from September onwards, are to be covered by the 81m Incat Stena Lynx III (1996/4,113gt).

Stena Lynx III's own Fishguard-Rosslare high-speed link is provided in July and August, with Stena Explorer laid up in Holyhead until re-appearing on the Central Corridor from 28 June to 5 September.

Prior to moving to Holyhead in March, Stena Lynx III is receiving a €2 million interior upgrade to provide better internal food and shopping facilities.
