The future of Stena Line's Dun Laoghaire-Holyhead route remains secure despite the high fuel costs of HSS Stena Explorer resulting in her reduced operation.
The HSS craft left the route for annual overall in January but does not return until late June to operate summer only sailings to September with just a single round trip from Anglesey.
In her place comes Stena Lynx III, which departed from a winter lay-up at Dublin to receive a €2 refit in Harland & Wolff, Belfast during January and is due to enter service on the central-corridor route on 15 March, initially with a single round-trip, stepped up to twice round-trip sailings ending 27 June.
With the HSS resuming summer sailings, Stena Lynx III resumes annual high-season sailings in support of Stena Europe on the Fishguard-Rosslare and then back to Holyhead-Dun Laoghaire for winter sailings. Jehan Ashmore
