A new tug for a rather exotic location has been completed by Brazil's Estaleiro Rio Negro Ltda for J. F. Oliveira Navegação Ltda, both of Manaus, Brazil.
The recently-launched José Guilherme IV, which measures 25 metres by 10 metres and is powered by a pair of Cummins KTA50-M diesel engines, will assist ships at the Port of Manaus, located some 1,450km (900 miles) inland from the Atlantic Ocean.
The incorporation of twin HRP model 6111WM aziuthing Z-drives in combination with the boat's 3,200hp gives a bollard pull of 40 tonnes and a free running speed of better than 13 knots.
