The inaugural Cork-Swansea crossing was scheduled for St David's Day, 1 March, but it was decided to cancel the overnight crossing from the southern Irish city and subsequent sailings during the first week of the month.
Passengers who booked and did not want to travel on alternative dates, received a full refund, and also a 50% discount off their next booking. The inaugural sailing is now scheduled for 6 March.
Tom Barrett, CEO of Fastnet Line, cited the main cause for the cancellations as a delay in obtaining spare ventilation grill parts required for the vehicle decks and that the refitting work was in no way attributed to work carried out at Harris Pye Dry Dock, Swansea, where Julia has spent over a fortnight in February.
