The Royal Navy's minehunter HMS Cattistock gave visitors at the Oceanology International Conference in London's Excel Centre a glimpse of life under the ocean waves.
The event, which took place between 9 and 11 March, was one of the largest oceanographic exhibitions in the world and the minehunter was part of the Royal Navy's presence at the show.
Opening their vessel to visitors for three days, the ship's company displayed the ship's underwater capabilities, which includes the Seafox mine disposal system, and mine clearance divers.
Before the show, Navigating Officer Lieutenant James Smith said: 'The conference gives the opportunity for the public to interact with the Royal Navy on an informal basis and for industry personnel to get a first hand knowledge of how their equipment works in the real world.'
Seafox is an advanced technology known as ‘fire and forget' where small unmanned underwater drones are used to destroy mines at depths of more than 300 metres. Visitors also had the chance to see the drones and learn more about the ship's sonar system.
